Muu Muu

So, as you may have gathered from my previous post I LOVE MUU hahaha. There are lots of other places I love too but I am blown away by her cute style and insanely cheap prices. Not only are there loads of freebies at her store but she also has tons of really low priced items. I never feel my pics can do justice but I shall try to show you just a handful of some of the luverlee goodness found at some of her stores. She has a rezzer so most items can be previewed live! YAY! Trust me, my pictures do not show how cute the items are.

The Great Freebie Room Challenge Part deux ;)

The Vintage Home

So my next mission was to create a vintage style home that was also totally free, well ok free or dollarbies ;P. The main thing I had problems with here was deciding what to use, meaning I was literally spoiled for choice. So respecting a low prim limit of 137 prims here in my latest offering.

The skybox is the beautiful cecilia that was a stunning group gift from the lovely Jordan Giant. Its so pretty and only 19 prims so it was the perfect place to start.

NOW, we all know I am partial to more than a bit of purple but for this project I gave myself an additional challenge of trying to choose more muted tones of greens, browns and pinks. WELL OK so a bit of purple loveliness WILL sneak in cos well, I love it ;))
The desk is the wonderful new desk and stool 1 prim meganess from MMG's. Its still on their lucky board in both colours <3>

The fancy frame is part of a dollarbie from freestyle & the russian doll is also $1 from there. The calender is from the extraordinarly talented Kalavinka ;)
The lovely tree, lamp, cup of coffee are all free gifts from Jordan Giant at her nodari store <3>

Moving around a little we have a adorable lil kitchen with accesories from wait for it ........... FREE FROM MUU'S WORKSHOP ;) Here I am doing the washing up, so domesticated ;) The blue milk pan
with white flowers is another freebie from a cute new store, well new to me, called moustique.

There aren't tons of items but the ones that are there are so cute.

Bad especially as it has some gorgeous textures and a free book YAY. I hope Jordan doesnt mind but I turned the bottom of her gift and. birds into some rustic wooden shelves and placed another pot from the free picnic pack
on top. This ones my fave pot as it has a cute lil sparkler sticking out of it. The candle is another freebie from Herbalys and can change to 4 gorgeous colours AND has a big small in the pack.

YAY for the free rugs at Y's. The lil stand in the middle is a freebie from JE*Republic, or at least it was still there yesterday so am sure it is. ITS so cute and has poses BOOYA! Above is one of the many many framed fine art prints that are free from the luckyboard at the amazing NN Museum. The chair and table are another lucky board gifty from *HP* Park and is just adorable.

My work here is nearly done, time for a relaxing glass (or bottle) of wine for free from the lovely Drobak.

The Great Freebie Room Challenge Part 1

STOP! FREEBIE Time!

Freebies! Love em or hate em they are no new thing to SL and are always the topic of much heated debate. Personally, I love a good freebie and cannot thank the generosity of the designers enough. PLUS through hunts and blogs I have found some of the most amazing places that I go back to time and time again. What I DO NOT like is when I see people grabbing up freebies for the sake of it. You know who I mean, the ones you spot who you know are only taking something because its free rather than because they want it. Saying that, they may wewll go back to buy stuffs at some point so yeah...... ANYWAY! This isn't going to be another of those discussions.

I spend alot of $ lindens in SL. I am blessed with an awesome SL job that pays me comfortably and a great RL job that lets me buy in some sl cash to play with. I am by no means flush but I am happy to spend a little bit of RL money buying things for the lil virtual me who is named Nimue. I digress.

So anyway, there I was sitting on my gorgeous bubble chairs (freebie) oggling my new MMG desk (I paid for mine cos I couldnt wait but both colours are in her lucky board for the patient folks) in my sl home that it occured to me. I had created a slhome I adore with the help of alot of linden dollars and some amazingly generous freebies, group gifts n dollarbies.

"Would it be possible" I mused "to create a home you love without spending lots of lindens? Just the odd dollar here n there?"

As I sat n pondered, SLfate intervened and I received a group notice from Magic Nook (<3)>

Desk and accessories by Ayumi Cassini of Magic Nook (group gift) SO AWESOME, 37 prims of books n pencils and lovely stuffs. Lamp is one of the beautiful free lamps by the lovely Jordan Giant. Map of Old Nautilus City by Katati Noel (Just one of the many lovely things she makes and is FREE) and finally the stunning and well loved Y's christmas group gift that is still in her store.

There arent really any rules but I guess the ones I stuck too were items had to be available NOW! (or at least were when I posted this) and cost no more than $1. Items you have made are allowed but I am guessing to keep them at a minimum to be fair. <3>

OK I promise I wont sing...*often*. I only discovered Picnic fairly recently but absolutely adore everything they have made so far. This birdhouse is so adorable especially with the poses. I love cats in sl and rl so I couldnt resist these statues when I found them at .:SHD:. ;) (there were 6 in the pack for dirt cheap but these 2 were my faves).





The birds are from the OHSOMUTHAFUCKINTALENTED Aikea of Plastik fame and are a gacha gacha radom prize, these ones are Midsummer n Abel but there are loads n all are luverly. Plastik has been one of my all time fave stores in sl for ages, not just because I fall in slust and spend far too many lindens every time I go there BUT also cos Aikeas designs are creative, eyecatching and come in so many colours I swear she must get as over excited when she designs them as I do when I am attempting to decide which colour to choose. <3

Home is where the SLHeart is

Aha so, I just got into this whole idea of blogging and blew off the cobwebs from my flickr page after getting a yearning for a home of my own in SL. Its no secret that I am a notorious gamer geek chicka and a constant amusement to my hubs for my love of creating homes in virtual worlds. In fact my only real beef with WoW is "WHY AINT WE GOT HOMES YET BLIZZARD"! *shakes fist at them*!

AHEM, anyhoo, so fortunately SL is a place where a gorgeous home can be created and OMGS the options are endless. After endless blog n SL trawling I finally decieded on the gorgeous from y's BUT I swear I am still hankering for one of Jordan Giants stunning homes, Oh and that Studio in itutu, as well as Turnips Tea House or that church or a cute sky box and pigeon coop from Molto Bene or or or orrrrrrr that especially cute studio from reek, OH and that lovely sky box at Rucott and not forgetting picnic's new building they JUST RELEASED ARGH SEEEEEEEE what a hard time I had choosing!

Choice made (for now) I set about the fun part of decorating. In RL my home is lots of white, ethnic wooden furniture, big blue cord sofas and loads of interesting knick knacks from our various travels around the world n days spent at craft fairs, festivals and antique shows. I guess its like a shabby chic meets retro vintage rock n roll n hippiness. I wanted my SL home to kinda reflect that without being a carbon copy.

This was my original version, since then it is going through various metamorphoses in a few short weeks cos as soon as I get happy with it I spot something new! But that is half the fun I think. More pictures can be found HERE !

ZOMG its been a long time commin

Nearly 2 years to be precise since I created my blog and then promptly got eaten by RL n forgot about it! As yer do.... ANYHOO...crashing on...ONE of my new years resolutions was to get off my butt n actually start blogging some of the many things I love in SL and possibly RL too's. DON'T PANIC! I dont claim to be a fashionista or expert of anything so this ownt be a blog that makes you go OMGS I will never be able to do that, my photography le sucks but That doesnt mean I cant have a go n have a giggle while at it. Soooooooooooo without further ado, I shall say welcome and stop waffling n get on with creating my first actual proper post. Hopefully it wont take me another 2 years to figure out.
